If you’re an 80 degrees and palm trees kind of person, you can bring the beach vibe to your home by making this beautiful tropical flower arrangement. I made this DIY faux flower arrangement for $12 plus tax by getting creative and upcycling a plastic coffee-mate creamer bottle.

You can upcycle a container to use, or perhaps find a pre-owned vase, or purchase one while getting the supplies from the Dollar Tree.

This is a fun DIY project that's cheap and easy to do. Plus, you get a tropical vibe without spending a ton of money on home decor.

What You Need to Make This DIY Tropical Flower Arrangement

Here is what you need to grab from your local Dollar Tree to make this faux flower arrangement:

  • 1.5 faux flower bush mixes (I used half the flowers for another project, you can use 2 bushes if you want it to be a fuller bouquet)

  • 1 faux grass bush

  • 1 bag of crafter accent stones

  • 1 bag of white crafter stones

  • 1 bag of white sand

  • 1 plastic container or vase

How to Make This Tropical Flower Arrangement

Step 1: If you are using a plastic creamer bottle, remove label and wash thoroughly. Make sure the bottle is dry before you proceed. If you are using a clean vase you are ready to go without this step.

Step 2: Add large pebbles or rocks first. Remember the rock, pebble, sand analogy—large items first. However, you need to make sure you do not fill the container to the top. You need to leave room to put the flowers in, and then finish adding the rest after.

Step 3: Next, add the smaller white rocks, and then the sand.

Step 4: Push the tropical faux flowers down in the center until it’s close to the bottom of the bottle or vase. Repeat this step with the faux grass. You want to be able to arrange the flowers so it looks full when it’s displayed.

Step 5: Finish adding the rocks, pebbles, and finish layering it with the sand to the top of the bottle or vase.

Step 6: Once you have the bottle or vase full you can work on arranging the flowers a bit to fill it out. The wires inside the stems allow you to move them around a bit.

Step 7: Pick a spot to showcase your new tropical flower arrangement! This is the perfect DIY home decor craft to make whether you want to bring a beach vibe to your living room or give your bathroom a oasis feel.
